Continuous collaboration
Since 2021, we have been part of Ruter's journey towards creating sustainable mobility in the capital region. We have contributed with both design and development across multiple teams, with a particular focus on accessible transportation and dynamic passenger information in Oslo.
The Problem
Ruter needed to digitize and streamline their services, particularly in the area of accessible transportation, which was transferred from Velferdsetaten. The target audience is vulnerable, and the solutions had to be both user-friendly and robust, making universal design a crucial focus.
Better Systems for Accessible Transportation
We have designed and developed several solutions for accessible transportation, including Min TT (self-service portal for users), Dagsplan (tool for schools and institutions), and TT Admin (case management system). The technical solutions we have built make mobility a little easier for people with disabilities. We are proud to say that out loud!
Dynamic Info-screens
We have designed the content for all the information screens you see on buses, trams, or stops. We also developed a tool that allows multiple teams at Ruter to publish content on information screens directly, without intermediaries. This has freed up valuable work time and made communication more efficient for Ruter.
"Ruter is a clear result of good design leadership."
The DOGA-jury
Project management for reduced risk
Throughout our projects, we have worked cross-functionally across designers, developers, and project managers, side by side with Ruter's own employees. Instead of being locked into extensive project plans, we work in short cycles where we directly test the solutions with commuters at stations and stops. This continuous feedback loop allows us to quickly adjust our course based on actual user needs.
About Ruter
Ruter provides public transportation services in Oslo and Akershus. This means that they currently account for over half of the country's public transport. Together with customers, partners, owners, and authorities, they work to make public transportation, along with cycling and walking, a natural first choice.
